Good News! Egyptian Activist Who Defaced Anti-Muslim Subway Ad Has Been Released From Jail!

Last week, an extremely racist and hurtful anti-Muslim ad went up in the New York City subway. How that was even okayed is beyond us! An Egyptian-born activist, Mona Elthaway, took matters in her own hands after seeing the hateful poster, and spray painted it pink “to match my pink raincoat, because pink is the least violent color of all.” She was arrested after doing so on misdemeanor charges of criminal mischief, making graffiti and possession of a graffiti instrument but thankfully, she was released yesterday. She’s due back in court in November. Above, you can watch Mona in action. We’re proud of you, Mona!
